yoooo, mau here you know that feeling where it feels like you're pushing a giant rock up a hill? that was me this week. felt like i was forcing. nothing was working out. zero content ideas.... even just making simple decisions felt heavy as f*ck. so of course, I kept thinking "i just need to push harder"… but, i talked to my spiritual mentor yesterday, and he looked at me and told me exactly what i needed to hear: stop. doing. anything. remove all expectations to figure it out. reconnect. ...and he reminded me of a really important truth: whatever you do has to come from OVERFLOW – not desperation. otherwise, it's not going to work (or be extremely difficult) and it's so fucking true... like, imagine you're riding a horse through a valley… if you're always pushing the horse – and never stop to feed it or give it water – it's going to die before you get where you want to go – and you're never going to make it. but if you stop to let the horse recover, it will recharge its energy and keep going. life works the same way. you are the horse. when things aren't flowing and you're approaching things from the wrong place, you need to stop. come back to center. fill yourself up. and once your energy is overflowing, continue again. because the truth is... when you create from overflow – meaning you're moving from genuine excitement, not some desperate need to "make it happen" – everything flows. and life feels EFFORTLESS. but when you're forcing or fighting for a certain outcome? you're just pushing the horse to death. and you're never going to make it. so if you feel like you're forcing the horse to move when it doesn't want to… go for a walk. change your environment. do something that fills you up. recharge, reconnect to your inner wisdom, then when the energy shifts, act. because here's what most people miss: when your energy is off – doing nothing IS something. taking space to reconnect doesn't mean you're giving up – it means you're coming back to your power so you can create from a place that actually works. sometimes the most productive thing you can do is absolutely nothing at all. that's it. now if you excuse me, I'm gonna go to Ubud to visit some waterfalls and completely fuck off. much love mau |
