I almost started crying...
I was looking out at the beautiful green mountains through the window...
Riding on a bus through the countryside of Chile.
And it's moments like this that I ask myself... how the hell did I get here???
And the only reason I'm HERE... I thought...
Is because I decided to move to Puerto Escondido after living in Colombia.
And while in Puerto Escondido, I met RANDOM people at the gym (and a few others I can't remember).
That told me about a place... San Jose del Pacifico. Which I had never heard of before...
Where magic mushrooms grow in the forest.
And after about 7 weeks of living in Puerto Escondido and feeling called to move to Oaxaca...
I decided to stop in San Jose on my way for the weekend.
And during that SPECIFIC weekend... at the specific TIME I got there...
I met a French girl from Chile... who was on her OWN journey...
and we happened to be staying at the exact same hostel...
sitting in the same little cafe... at 10 pm... and becoming friends?
I asked her if she wanted to do a Temazcal ceremony I was doing the next day...
and since she had "missed" the first one she ever planned to do, she was down!
So that next day, we did the Temazcal (along with some other awesome people), tripped on mushrooms in the forest... and sat around the campfire singing and playing guitar.
It was honestly an incredible day and weekend...
BUT THIS ISN'T THE CRAZY PART.
The crazy part is... fast forward 10 months... I came to visit her in Chile after living in Argentina for 2 months...
And now, I'm sitting somewhere and doing something I'd NEVER be doing had THIS VERY SPECIFIC SEQUENCE OF EVENTS NEVER HAPPENED.
From the DAY I went to the TIME I got on the bus, to the PLACE I stayed at, to...
It's too much to even fathom.
So here I am... on a BUS... riding through the countryside of Chile... going to a little port town (Valparaiso) that she said I should visit...
EVERY DECISION YOU'VE MADE HAS LEAD YOU TO WHERE YOU ARE RIGHT NOW IN THIS MOMENT IN TIME.
Isn't that fucking CRAZY!?
And you're probably like duh, bro...
But, but...
What does this all even mean?
Well on ONE hand...
You are EXACTLY where you are supposed to be... RIGHT NOW.
But on the OTHER hand...
If you don't like where you are... YOU CAN CHANGE IT.
Because YOUR decisions are what got you here in the first place.
And trust me...
When I say things like "I decided to move to Puerto Escondido after Colombia"...
Do you know what I base these decisions on?
INTUITION.
That is literally IT.
There is no logical basis for any decision I've made in the last 16 months... besides... it just feels right.
From quitting my well-paying engineering job to starting an online business and booking multiple one-way flights...
IT JUST FELT RIGHT. SO I DID IT.
Even when people ask me why...
Even when I was sad to leave...
Even when I was SCARED...
So I guess what I'm trying to say is...
If you STOP yourself from following this little voice inside of you... that little CRAZY one that doesn't shut up...
You will NEVER know what you're missing out on.
Because never in a million years could you predict the sequence of events that will unfold when you start to follow it.
You can only connect the dots looking back.
All it takes is putting ONE foot in front of the other and starting to blindly follow the path.
And trust me...
The LONGER you go without following this voice...
The longer you go without living a life that feels like a constant dream...
EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.
So... STOP WAITING.
Otherwise, you'll look back one day and wonder...
What if I had done this? What if I had done that?
Well, don't wonder. Just do it.
