holyyyy crap…

i’m sitting at this outdoor cafe in Uluwatu…

and i just had a HUGE light bulb moment about the whole ‘personal world’ thing.

(honestly, this cafe has been super significant for me lol… but that’s for another email)

now…

i don’t wanna make any brash decisions...

so i was hoping to run something by you?

look –

the last few days i’ve been talking about the idea of building your personal world.

and it seems like a lot of you have resonated with it.

maybe that's why you're here?

but…

i’ve also not been getting AS MUCH interest in the group as i thought.

so i’m thinking…

HUH???

what’s going on?

do i stink??? 😆

nah.

a year ago i would’ve thought everyone hated me and i was lame.

but now…

i’m just seeing it for what it is:

it’s probably not clear enough.

and because of that… it doesn’t feel doable.

let alone desirable.

but…

i just ran into a good friend of mine at the cafe – Nick Sweeny (maybe some of you know him as the coherence breathwork guy?)

and as i was telling him about this…

he goes:

“dude…

you’re not the ‘worldview’ guy.

you’re the BIRD guy.”

and i was like…

huh??? 😂

“think about it.

the reason people are bought into your journey isn’t because you talk about personal worlds.

it’s because a bird landed on your head…

you left Austin…

moved to Bali…

and went all in on the life you’re living.

you TOLD YOUR STORY.”

and in that moment…

i realized:

holy shit.

i had this completely backwards.

i kept saying:

‘build your personal world!'

but…

telling your story is HOW you build your personal world.

just think about it.

every good story has:

• a main character
• an enemy
• a problem
• a plot
• a mission

these things are what create the world.

and when you tell your story, people buy into:

who you are,

what you believe,

and where you’re going.

which is exactly how you build a personal world (aka brand) people want to be part of.

it’s also how you never run out of ideas or have to force content…

because it all comes from YOU.

and the beautiful part is...

your story is something no one can replicate (not even ai).

which makes it one of one.

the only issue is…

most people have no idea how to tell their story.

let alone turn ANYTHING that happens to them into a story that entertains, teaches, and pulls people deeper into their world.

(kind of like this email?)

so…

i’m seriously considering changing the entire 8-week “build your world” group…

and making it about the ONE thing that actually builds your world:

telling your story.

but before i completely throw the cat out of the bag…

i’m curious,

if i put together a 4-week sprint on turning your story into a world people want to be part of…

would you be interested?

no commitment.

just reply 'story' so i can get an idea.
