Two kinds of people in the world... Hey, mau here… So yesterday I went on a run in the evening and the weather was fucking incredible – Cloudy with grey/blue skies and the wind was picking up like it was about to rain. I LOVE the rain. After running I jumped in my car and headed to Trader Joe’s to pick up food for dinner… While i was driving there, the sky turned a deep dark blue/almost purple and I saw some lightning. It felt like a scene out of a movie… and this “larger-than-life” feeling came over me. Instantly, the wind REALLY picked up… I breathed in that delicious rain smell… And before I knew it – it was pouring. Now here I was, driving with the windows down sticking my head out the like a little puppy… Feeling absolutely ELECTRIC. I pull into the parking lot of Trader Joes when I see this girl literally FREAKING out. She had this look on her face like she was in the middle of an erupting volcano about to drown in lava. I watched her run to her friends car, grab something, then run back to her car like her life depended on it… The whole time i was thinking– man I can’t wait to get out of the car and play in the rain :) Anyways, that’s exactly what I did. I parked my car and started walking towards the entrance with my arms wide open, looking up at the sky sticking my tongue out… When all of a sudden, I see another girl with an umbrella looking back at me with a confused look on her face… We make eye contact, and she instantly laughs and says: “There are two kinds of people in the world” And I laughed too and we shared a beautiful moment. I’d like to think that in that moment, she looked at her umbrella and thought it was dumb. Whatever fear she had about getting wet instantly vanished, and just for a small moment… she looked at the world through a different lens. The lens that relaxes your shoulders, that lightens you up and makes you see your “problems” as insignificant. After that, I walked into trader joes with a big ole smile on my face, picked up food, then came home and ate… But that’s not the point of this story. The point is that this is a clear example of the two kinds of people in this world:
To be honest, I have never owned an umbrella in my life… And I’ve gotten drenched – ALOT. But here’s the thing… It’s not just about getting wet… Life has so many ways of throwing unexpected things at us. Sometimes we get caught in the craziest storms… get stranded on deserted islands all by ourselves… and even fall flat on our face. These are all things we can’t control… but you know what you can control? How you respond. How “light” you are about it, And how much you dance while it’s happening... Because the truth is, If you’re trying to create your own reality, the most important thing you can do is remain in a state of “feeling good”… Why? Because if you’re constantly on the reaction side of everything that is happening to you… And aren’t able to take something seemingly “bad”, and “let it go”… You will always be carrying around these negative feelings… which will then get suppressed… and turn into chronic stress or worse – sickness. Manifesting as more bad things in your life. But when you feel good… You’re are more connected to source(or God), and when you’re connected to source, you’re more tapped in to your intuition. And when you’re tapped into your intuition, you attract ideas, insights, people, and opportunities you wouldn’t otherwise…. And manifest MORE GOOD. So, just for a moment... Ask yourself: In what ways are you stressing about getting wet? Trying to control everything? Reacting at whatever life throws your way? And how can you start to dance in the rain? Because once you do, and are able to "let go" of negative emotions and turn them into positive feelings... Life becomes so much more fun :) Anyways, that’s all. Have an amazing day mau PS.
